imaGine – the public face of Welcome to Our Future

imaGine was originally set up by Transition Evesham Vale to provide a community meeting place in the heart of Evesham. Having enjoyed the use of our premises in Market Place Evesham for nearly 4 years, we vacated the building to make way for Orto Lounge in January 2017. After a brief sojourn in the former Taylors estate agents in the High Street, we are now based in the former ‘Game’ shop in Unit 16 Riverside Centre. imaGine provides a shop window for environmental initiatives, local events and community organisations and is now an integral part of Welcome to Our Future, a registered charity that aligns perfectly with our ethos, aims and objectives.

Established as an experiment in communication and public engagement imaGine offers an exciting range of links to local activities including the following:

‘Books for Free’ – an initiative to give readers a source of books, audio books, magazines, jigsaws and many other forms of the written and printed word with the aim of reducing the quantities going to landfill.

‘Books for Free Mobile’ – attending local events, exhibitions and visiting care homes and other community venues to provide free books to people who don not or cannot visit our shop.

Transition Evesham Vale – a local campaign group championing all things environmental, including Local Food, Renewable Energy, Sustainable Building, Waste Reduction and Recycling

Community Art – a place for local artists to display their work and meet fellow artists from Evesham and the Vale.

Cycle Evesham Vale – the local cycling activity and advocacy group working to ‘Get more bums on bikes in the Vale of Evesham’.

These initiatives help people and communities shift towards a more sustainable future, providing a catalyst for change, working with local communities, discovering how we can work together for a healthier, happier, lower carbon future.

imaGine is normally open to the public Tuesdays to Saturdays, 10.30 – 12.30. It is an entirely volunteer-led initiative, so there may be times that we are unable to open due to lack of available staff.

We also have a Facebook page and will post there is the shop cannot open. https://www.facebook.com/imagineevesham
